Activities | Walking
The short walk are usually 2-3 miles in length without too many hills or obstacles. These walks are suitable for those that like a more leisurely pace, but still want to see some interesting places in the local area.
You will have plenty of time to chat to your fellow walkers and get some needed fresh air.
The longer walks are a little bit harder. Usually these are 4-6 miles long and can include some stiff hills and challenges (fences / gates, cows, etc.).
You should be a bit fitter before you start these walks. However these walks will certainly get your heart pumping!

Cost - £1 per year and lunch money
Requirements - You will need sturdy walking shoes and weather-proof clothing. For the longer walks you may want to bring some refreshments.
The benefits of walking
Walking may help to slow down the aging process, and it works no matter what age you get started. Exercise buys you three to seven additional years of life. Join with other U3A members for a chat while enjoying the country.

"Think you might give it a try? Email the leader (see above) and you'll be added to the mailing list. You'll receive details of each walk a week or so in advance, with no obligation to walk unless you feel like it. You can just turn up on the day, without prior notice. Though it is helpful to know roughly what number to expect as we usually all have lunch together after the walk. We share cars or use public transport. We walk to enjoy each other's company. Join us, we'd love to have you with us."
